Carrera Cafe: The Coffee Shop of My Dreams

Carrera Cafe, Los Angeles

If you’re planning a trip to Los Angeles or just love finding new coffee shops to add to your list, let me introduce you to Carrera Cafe. This dreamy little coffee shop had been on my radar for what felt like forever, so when I finally found myself in sunny California, it was a non-negotiable stop on my itinerary. Spoiler alert: it absolutely lived up to the hype.

Iconic Images

Carrera Cafe is famous for its coffee art - and I’m not talking just your average latte foam leaf. Here, you can have bascially any image printed on your coffee, whether it’s hot or iced! (Yes, I squealed with joy when I found this out.) The possibilities are endless: from pop culture icons to memes. While I was *this close* to ordering Kim Kardashian’s iconic crying face, I went with Mickey Mouse since Disneyland was next on our travel agenda. My fiancé? He stayed true to his 90s hip-hop heart and got Tupac.

Mickey Mouse and Tupac - what a combo.

Surprise Bonus: The Infamous Pink Wall

One of the best surprises about visiting Carrera Cafe was realising it’s right next to the famous Paul Smith ‘Pink Wall.’ If you know, you know…. it’s an Instagrammer’s paradise. Make sure your phone is charged because you’re about to take 300 photos.

Tuck into the food menu!

As someone who grew up in England watching The Hills, the menu is a iconic very ‘LA’ spread of vibrant salads and sandwiches. Everything we tried was yummy and felt healthy-ish!

Even though I wouldn’t eat tofu if my life depended on it, our friend Kayti ordered this tofu salad bowl and it looked amazing!

Merch

The vibe inside the cafe is what every Pinterest board dreams of: modern, bright, and effortlessly cool. And as someone who *cannot* resist a souvenir, I walked away with a pink-and-white LA-themed gem that I will cherish forever. No regrets, only joy.

The verdict

Carrera Cafe is an experience, not just a coffee shop. It’s the perfect spot to work remotely while people-watching (endless people taking selfies at the Pink Wall).

So, next time you’re in Los Angeles, treat yourself to a visit. Have some fun choosing your coffee art, soak in the aesthetic, and don’t forget to snap a photo or 30.
